The Slava Voynov saga added a new chapter on Wednesday as the 25-year-old LA Kings defensemen was arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Voynov, who had just been released from the Seal Beach Detention Center after pleading guilty and serving time for domestic abuse is currently being held at an unknown ICE detention center.

The Slava Voynov assault case is finally reaching an end as a judge ruled yesterday that the 25-year defenseman will have to spend 90 days in county jail as well as serve three years probation. The ruling comes after the Chelyabinsk native pled no contest to a misdemeanor charge of one count of corporal injury to spouse.

In what seems to be a recurring yearly theme in the NHL, another Russian athlete has been arrested on suspicion of alleged domestic violence. Kings’ defenseman, Slava Voynov was arrested early this morning in Torrance, CA after bringing his girlfriend to the hospital after allegedly beating her. Hospital staff quickly alerted police who arrived and took the 24-year-old Chelyabinsk native into custody. Voynov posted the $50,000 bail and was immediately suspended indefinitely by the league.
